Wood Doors & Drawer Fronts
All wood doors and drawer fronts carry a limited one-year warranty from the date of delivery, contingent upon compliance with the following conditions.
Product Specification and Size Limitations
To maintain structural integrity and warranty eligibility, all doors and drawer fronts must comply with Corona Millworks’ manufacturing specifications. Products ordered outside these guidelines may be denied warranty coverage. Please refer to coronamillworks.com or current written documentation for full details on construction limitations by style.
- Solid Drawer Fronts must not exceed 10” in height or 33” in width.
- Cope and Stick Frame Doors over 48” in height must include a center rail.
- Wood Doors over 72” in height are not covered under the standard warranty.
Custom designs that fall outside of catalog specifications may require prior authorization and are subject to limited or no warranty coverage.
General Tolerances
Corona Millworks wood doors and drawer fronts are manufactured to the nearest 1/16” of an inch, adhering to precise construction standards. However, due to the natural properties of wood and accepted industry practices, the following tolerances apply and are not considered defects:
A warp or twist not exceeding 3/16″, as measured across the length or width of the product (by laying flat against a true plane surface), shall not be considered a defect.
A tolerance of 1/16″ is allowed in both overall dimensions and squareness.
Gaps at miter joints of less than 1/32″ are considered acceptable and are not covered under warranty.
These tolerances reflect the natural behavior of wood and normal variability in production. Claims based on measurements within these ranges will not be honored under warranty. All wood components should be properly acclimated and inspected before finishing or installation.
Natural Wood Variations
Natural variations in color, grain configuration, and texture are inherent characteristics of genuine wood products and shall not be considered defects. These variations reflect the uniqueness of each individual piece of wood and may include:
- Differences in shading
- Mineral streaks
- Knots
- Growth rings
Such natural traits contribute to the authenticity and beauty of real wood and are not controllable through the manufacturing process.
Exact matches between doors, drawer fronts, or replacement items cannot be guaranteed.
Color or grain differences between sample materials and final products are expected and are not covered under this warranty.
Finishing Guidelines for Customers
Proper finishing is essential to preserve the integrity wood doors and drawer fronts and to maintain warranty coverage. The following requirements must be followed:
Products must be finished within the specified timeframe after receipt:
- Within 24 hours in coastal (within 5 miles of saltwater body) and in desert regions
- Within 72 hours in all other areas
All wood components must be finished evenly on all surfaces: This includes fronts, backs, and all edges to ensure moisture balance and prevent warping or cracking.
Coastal Installation Warning
If products are installed or used within five (5) miles of a saltwater body, the warranty is void unless the wood is properly sealed and maintained using finishes appropriate for high salinity environments.
Salt-laden air accelerates moisture absorption, wood movement, and hardware corrosion.
Finishing products with appropriate sealers and topcoats — and maintaining them regularly — is the customer’s responsibility. Failure to meet these finishing requirements will void warranty coverage.
Finishing Restrictions for Warranty Eligibility
Corona Millworks sells all wood doors and drawer fronts in an unfinished state and does not offer finishing services. While customers may choose to apply their own finishes, the following guidelines are provided as general best practices for maintaining product stability and performance.
Please note that finishing the product does not preserve warranty coverage.
To qualify for any warranty, claim or product remake under Corona Millworks’ warranty policy, the following conditions must be met:
- Products must remain in their original, unfinished, and unaltered condition.
- Any application of paint, stain, sealer, clear coat, or other surface treatments will void all warranty coverage.
- Modifications such as trimming, cutting, drilling, or sanding also void the warranty.
If a product is returned for warranty evaluation and has been finished or altered in any way, the claim will be automatically denied.
Panel Construction Guidelines
Corona Millworks offers recessed panel doors and drawer fronts in 1/4”, 3/8” and 7/16” thickness, each type is subject to the following conditions and warranty limitations:
7/16” Solid Panel Option
All doors and drawer fronts that have a 7/16″ solid recessed (glue-up) panel can be changed to a 3/8″ veneer panel upon request.
Veneer Panel Material Options
Doors and drawer fronts with a 3/8” veneer panel are only available to be manufactured in the following species:
- Alder (Select)
- Cherry (Select)
- Maple (Select Hard White)
- Oak (Select White)
- Oak (Rift White)
- Walnut (Select)
Requests for 3/8” veneer panels outside these approved species will not be accepted and will be manufactured as a solid glue-up panel.
Solid glue-up panels are also susceptible to variations in color and grain due to the heavy planning and sanding needed to produce the 7/16” thick panel. Corona Millworks does not guarantee a color or grain match for glue up panels and is not considered a defect.
Corona Millworks recommends using veneer recessed panels whenever possible due to their stability and because they provide a consistent color and grain pattern.
Out-of-State Shipments – Warranty Limitation for Glue-Up Panels
Solid wood glue-up panel doors and drawer fronts are not warrantied when shipped outside the state of California. All 7/16” solid recessed (glue-up) panels must be produced with a veneer panel, not a solid wood glue-up panel.
Solid wood glue-up panels are highly sensitive to changes in climate during freight and at the destination address. Corona Millworks cannot guarantee performance, stability, or long-term quality, once exposed to environmental conditions outside of our controlled region.
Out-of-State Shipping Limitations (Wood Doors & Drawer Fronts)
Due to natural material behavior and environmental differences across regions, Corona Millworks cannot warranty solid wood doors or solid wood drawer fronts shipped outside the state of California.
Wood is a hygroscopic material and expands or contracts based on surrounding moisture levels.
During transport or installation in regions with humidity levels significantly different from California, solid wood products may experience:
- Warping or twisting
- Cracking or splitting
- Joint stress or separation
- Dimensional movement beyond normal tolerances
These conditions result from environmental moisture fluctuations, not manufacturing defects, and therefore cannot be covered under warranty.
Customer Responsibility (Out of State)
Customers receiving solid wood products outside California must understand:
- Environmental changes cannot be fully controlled, even with proper acclimation.
- Maintaining stable humidity and climate control is the customer’s responsibility.
- Any structural movement or failure caused by environmental conditions is not warrantied.
Compliance Requirement
All warranty coverage for this product category is contingent upon full adherence to the Environmental and Structural Warranty Guidelines. Failure to meet these conditions will void all applicable warranty coverage.
